I’m currently watching UFC 276 and it got me thinking about the popularity of boxing. I know this would never happen, but would boxing be more popular/entertaining if fighters were signed by organizations like the UFC? What if there were single belts for each weight class? I think it would maybe help non-champion fighters become more popular, but I’m not sure what it would do for boxing as a whole. Please let me know any thoughts on this!
Thing is though UFC is just one organisation, like WBC. Only difference is, in MMA they don’t fight each other like they do in boxing. This has people thinking that UFC is MMA.
Other problem is the pay. There is a reason UFC fighters want to fight boxers. It would be their biggest pay day.
Boxing is a mess with the organisations for sure, but there has been multiple organisations for so long it’s almost impossible to change.
