Natural- I am not a fan of this strategy. It seems the results are too random. And a ton of punches are usually thrown. Effective for counter punchers or perhaps if your skills are all average this can help (sort of jack of all trades master of none). I do like that it limits energy loss and when closely matched with an opponent in skill, may even be a good way to open a fight.

Jab and moveThis is a high energy strategy that gives you a little chin and punishment protection but eats energy, especially if you lose the round. Effective for boxers (or any fighter weak in aggression) and a good strategy starting as early as round 2 if your chin is weak.

Use the ring- this is situational. If you are taking punishment and need a round to clear your fighters tko level, this is useful. It is also useful to keep the number of punches down and can slow down a fight against an aggressive opponent. (Also helpful to drag a fight to a decision if you bet that way…) Any close rounds may go against you for acting like a rodeo clown in the ring tho.

Go to the body- I start all my fights here. It is an amazing strategy for getting a lead in the energy dept. I use it to get a significant lead in energy and then pick my go to strategy to finish. I like using it for rounds 1-3 and maybe as high as round 5 in a longer fight. How long I use it depends on how effective it is. One round may be enough if you win it. This is a control tactic designed to set you up for the win later in the fight.

Smother inside- A good low energy way to protect your chin. Seems better than Natural at keeping punch counts low too.

Plant your feet- after vigorous testing I’ve decided: this isn’t half bad. A solid go to strategy for boxer punchers and even brawlers as early as round 1. Usually good for high power and accuracy fighters with less aggression.

Pile on pressure- this is the yin to jab’s yang. Excellent choice for highly aggressive fighters with stamina to burn, because burn it, you will. Winning the round helps keep energy loss down. This is the TKO attack and is effective rounds 2 and up but if initiated too early could easily backfire.

Look for KO- Useable, if your fighter is powerful with a granite chin. It works well to win rounds as well as create the knock down.

The other two strategies are too extreme in my opinion to be of any real use. They are a single situational ![]()
