Why can’t I get a title shot

Hey, so my fighter you can see him on the right hand side of the screen is Michael. The champion I’m trying to fight is of course on the left.

He doesn’t hold any other belts in this division and neither of us have a fight scheduled. I have tried progressing until the new rankings are published to see if the fight becomes available.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is there something built into the game where for the champion is ducking a tough fight??

Yes, it’s quite common for a champ to duck an up and coming undefeated fighter. He’s probably more interested in a unification fight at this point. But you fighter’s chance will come, just don’t match him too tough if he’s already highly ranked. Bide your time. Eventually one of the other champs might be willing to fight him.
